FAQ's
How many
nozzles are required for a typical
residential installation?
To ensure adequate coverage, misting
nozzles should be placed around the
perimeter of the house – under the eves
and along the fence-line at intervals of
10’ to 12’. The number of nozzles
required will be based on the size and
shape of the coverage area. The average
home will require between 30 to 40
nozzles. All entry level Mosquito-Hawk
systems can support up to 60 nozzles.
The 2 zone systems can support 120
nozzles.
How often
does the system need to mist to be
effective?
All Mosquito-Hawk systems are set at the
factory to mist twice daily for 45
seconds. The default setting will
automatically mist at 6:00 am and 8:30
pm. You can program the digital system
to mist up to 8 times per with durations
up to 2 minutes. We have found that
mosquito control can be achieved with
early morning and late evening
applications.
Does the
system need to mist daily to be
effective?
For the best results the system should
mist twice daily. The Mosquito-Hawk
system does allow you to set the
controls to “manual” mode which will
only mist with the remote control. We
integrated this feature so the homeowner
could completely control when misting
occurs.
How long
will a tank of chemical last?
This will depend on the number of
nozzles, the number of cycles per day
and the duration of each mist. For a
standard 40 nozzle system spraying 2
times per day at a duration of 45
seconds, the 55 gallon system should
last 2-3 months.
How much
maintenance is required with the system?
The Mosquito-Hawk misting system uses
industrial grade components to ensure
your system remains trouble-free for the
life of the product. Each system is
equipped with a level sensor and
indicator light to let you know when a
refill is required. When the tank is
empty the level sensor will shut down
the system to protect the pump from
damage. Simply refill the tank and your
system is ready to go!
